For the last few weeks I’ve been playing with a new free iPhone app called Instagram. Snap a photo, choose a vintage filter and share it with other Instagramers and the web. Sounds simple no? But it’s a unique take on photo sharing, where the social aspects play a large role, but entirely within the iPhone interface (at least for now). The square dimensions of the “Polaroid” add creative constraint along with the built-in filters.
It’ll be fun to watch Instagram grow. Oh, and it’s available today on App Store.

The Incident

In their own words: “… a fast-paced, retro-style action game”. I can confirm this 8-bit iPhone game is fun, addictive, has great chiptunes, and is easy to play.

Dunk - The Dribbble feed viewer

I’ll do my best not to make this website a repeat of Dribbble news, but… makers of one of my favorite apps for the iPhone (Outside) have just launched the first Dribbble iOS app. Dunk is a beautifully-designed feed viewer for Dribbble shots, tags and players. Really looking forward to seeing more from the Robocat folks (and other app crafters!) as our API matures.

EPICWIN

A genius concept for an iPhone app: to-do list meets RPG. For a procrastinator like myself, this just might be the ticket to checking things off.

Current status at the office today, the Friday before a long holiday weekend. And admittedly a test of a Tumblr video upload.

Louis Harboe has recreated 11 iOS icons using nothing but CSS. Incredibly impressive.

eBoy FixPix

Having long been a fan of eBoy’s pixel art, this new iPhone game caught me attention immediately. But what’s interesting here is how simple yet addictive it is.

“Piece together” 100 of beautifully chunky posters by tilting your iPhone in certain directions. My only complaint is that it can be so fast paced that you often fail to stop and admire the artwork.
